Yalanji Red #3 (48" X 78")

$6,400.00
Sold

Acrylic on Canvas

For this piece, I traveled to northeastern Australia, to the Daintree, the oldest rainforest in the world. There, I was guided through an ancient smoking ceremony and a dreamtime walk with the Kuku Yalaji Tribe. They taught me about their most dangerous plants as well as their healing plant-medicines. While navigating crocodile-filled streams, they guided me through the process of properly and respectfully collecting the ancient earth pigment I used in this painting.

All paintings are shipped unstretched, rolled, and in a protective shipping tube. For other options please email mary.jones@christopherdulin.com.
