Heartache & House Paint - Series 2020 - 2021
This series is, quite simply, emotion on canvas. Birthed directly from a tragedy I experienced in early 2020, I had no precision left in me. The thought of picking up a pencil or a brush and trying to recreate what I saw in my head gave way to splattering paint, grabbing the canvas with both hands and repeatedly slamming it against the ground. The process was cathartic, though I expecting nothing in the form of a visual, artistic result. After allowing it to dry, I was amazed to find exactly what I had been feeling represented on the canvas in front of me.
